A large and very appreciative audience seemed to enjoy the mix of Haydn and Mozart presented to them at our 'Spring into Classics' concert on 12th April.

Berwick Arts Choir December 2024 concert

The beautiful Berwick Parish Church was the perfect setting for some equally beautiful music both choral and orchestral.

The choir performed Mozart’s Missa Brevis in D Minor and Haydn’s Missa Brevis in F, before rounding off the first half with the gentle serene and moving Ave Verum (also Mozart) .

The mood changed completely at the beginning of the second half with Berwick Arts Orchestra’s spirited performance of the ever popular Eine Kleine Nachtmusik. The concert ended with the uplifting Haydn’s Missa Brevis St Joannis de Deo. Our huge thanks go to our soloists Rachel Dyson, Tamsin Davidson, James Mckenzie and Mike Towers, our guest accompanist Kit Hobkirk , and the Berwick Arts Orchestra led by Cath Cormie.

And our biggest thanks go obviously to our Musical Director Marion Scammel, who directs and rehearses us weekly with endless patience and humour…

The audience left appropriately enough with a spring in their step, looking forward to summer, and onwards to our next concert which will take place on Sat 13th December 2025, and will inter alia, include Handel’s Messiah Pt I….(SHHH don’t mention Christmas).

Please join us then - or come and rehearse with us for that concert from 11th September 2025 (see our Members page for details…).

We would like to thank Berwick Town Council for their support for this concert.
