USEFUL INFORMATION FOR MEMBERS
Rehearsals take place on Thursday evenings.
Berwick United Reformed Church (BURC)
7.30 to 9.30pm
There is plenty of parking near the church, but please be considerate towards local residents.
We are currently rehearsing for our next concert on 25th April 2020, when we will be performing Handel's Messiah.
Please try to ensure that you attend as many rehearsals as possible and that you email the Director of Music, Catherine Fish, if you are unable to attend.
Our Membership Secretary records each member’s details and keeps a record of attendances; please tick your name in the register at the beginning of each rehearsal.
Please bring a soft-leaded pencil and eraser with you to rehearsals so that you can annotate your scores as indicated by the Director of Music.
There is an additional rehearsal on the afternoon of our concerts.
Vocal scores are generally obtained through the lending library system and are given out by our Librarian free of charge to members at the start of each term.
After each concert you are asked to return all borrowed scores to the Librarian with any pencil markings erased. Anyone unable to take part in the concert is responsible for returning his or her score to the Librarian in person as soon as possible.
Late return of scores may incur a fine from the lending library which the member will be expected to pay.
Very occasionally, if we cannot source hire scores, it may be necessary to ask members to buy their own.
At concerts our dress code is:
Long black skirt or trousers
Long-sleeved black top
BAC tie and hanky
BAC scarves, ties and hankies are available to purchase at a minimal cost.
There is a great deal of material available to help choral singers learn their parts, both free and to purchase. These include:
Scores, rehearsal and performance CDs to purchase
Free for on-line use, choral learning CDs available for purchase
Midi files free to download
