WELCOME TO BERWICK ARTS CHOIR

Berwick Arts Choir is a friendly, mixed voice choir of around sixty members based in Berwick-upon-Tweed, Northumberland.

We enjoy singing a varied repertoire of major choral works from Bach to Britten.

Our musical season starts in September and ends in April / May, and we normally give two concerts a year with professional soloists and musicians.

Rehearsals for our 2024/25 season commence on Thursday 12th September 2024 at 7pm in Spittal Community Centre. Please email us at berwickartschoir@gmail.com for further details.

OUR NEXT CONCERT

Our next concert, 'A Choral Cracker', will take place on Saturday 14th December 2024 at Berwick Parish Church.

Our concert celebrates the season of the year and includes a range of works and carols for all to enjoy (with some audience participation!). The choir is led by our music director Marion Scammell and is accompanied by our guest organist Calum Landon. We are also delighted to welcome the Berwick Concert Band - always a treat.

WHAT THE CHOIR MEANS TO OUR MEMBERS

Choral singing is both healing and life-affirming, which is why I look forward to my weekly dose of Berwick Arts Choir.

It is here that I find good music which, on occasion, challenges me in a good way, as well as friendship in the company of like-minded people.

BAC Bass

As a newcomer to the choir (and to Berwick) I was made very welcome and given the help I needed to feel confident in singing with a choir again for the first time in many years.

The conductor has a nice way of encouraging us to achieve the best of which we are capable.

BAC Bass

Choral singing gives immense exhilaration and satisfaction. In my 50+ years of membership of BAC I have learned much beautiful music, met many nice people, and made some very good friends.

Newcomers are warmly welcomed.
